I’ve always enjoyed the look and feel of wood around me, especially in my home environment. Wooden furniture, kitchen cupboards, tables and lounge chairs have a warmth and feeling of comfort that you just don’t get with metals, plastics and laminates.

But why hide the beautiful grain of the timber with a coat of paint? The natural qualities inherent in wood deserve to be admired and enjoyed. So what you need is a way of protecting the surface whilst showcasing the natural beauty.

You’ve no doubt noticed that there are countless products on the market – varnishes, polyurethanes, polishes and waxes which claim to be able to achieve this. I don’t know about you but I’ve often been disappointed in most of what’s out there in the stores. They are either full of chemicals to hurry the drying time, or the result is just dull and lifeless.

So I decided to do some research and try to come up with something that is made using pure natural ingredients that is safe enough to apply even on food preparation surfaces but also nourishes the timber, enhances the grain and gives a warm but hard finish.

We managed to come up with a product that ticks all these boxes and we’ve had it on the market for a few years now and it has proven to be very popular, even for uses I hadn’t even envisaged.

One day a musician proudly showed us his pride and joy, the fabulous solid body electric guitar that he had put together by hand. Before fitting the pick-ups, tuning pegs, strings and other hardware, he coated it with the product that we’d developed and he was as pleased as punch with the result. And I don’t blame him – it looked fantastic!
